It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we inform you that Jaap Klijn passed away on Tuesday, 4 August, as a result of cancer.
For 30 years, Jaap was one of the driving forces behind King Nuts & Raaphorst. Through his calm and thoughtful leadership, extensive knowledge of products and markets, strong business acumen, determination, and wisdom, he made an invaluable contribution to the growth of our organization and to the lasting relationships he built with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
King Nuts was established in 1973 as part of Klijn B.V. In 1997, King Nuts and Raaphorst joined forces to become one of the largest importers and exporters of nuts and dried fruits in the Netherlands. From that moment onward, Jaap devoted himself wholeheartedly to King Nuts & Raaphorst in his role as Managing Director.
We owe Jaap a great debt of gratitude for his many years of dedication, his vision, and his exceptional commitment. His legacy will continue to be felt throughout our organization for many years to come.
Our thoughts are with his family and all other loved ones. We wish them strength and courage as they come to terms with this profound loss.
